ever wonder how different your life would be if that one thing never happened

This has been an incredible week.
In September of 2011 I joined the Be The Match Registry. I gave swabs of the inside of my cheek so that if someone ever needed a bone marrow donation and I matched them, I could donate my marrow to them. In January of 2014, I was contacted and told I matched a 49 yr old man who has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. In March of 2014, I began recieving Neupogen injections to increase my stem cell count, on the 31st of March I was flown out to California, on the 1st of April, I donated. I laid in that bed for 6 hours with an IV in each arm. I’ve never experienced so much physical pain, but I’d do it again if it means giving someone hope. My donation was almost double of what they needed. (: I’m grateful for this registry, I’m grateful to be healthy enough to give this to a person who needs it. I hope this saves his life. Join the Registry! Be the Match! (:
